Conservation and reuse of Sansovino’s masterpiece in Venice were focused on three issues: the preservation of traces from all the events the building underwent; the priciple that any new addiction or insertion has to be recognizable as belonging to the present time, in a harmonious dialogue with the past; the use of floors as devices for the functioning of the building by means of steel tiles.
